1 year, 4 months agoNeuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to rewire itself, plays a pivotal role in shaping leadership style and the more we understand how the brain works the more we can leverage this wonderful capability.
For greater balance and improved leadership practice we can use focused attention and proven tools and techniques to intentionally rewire our brain. For example, the prefrontal cortex, which sits just behind the forehead, is active in strategic thinking and decision-making. We can leverage our brains changeabiity for a more analytical leadership style. Alternatively we can work with the brain structures involved in emotion to develop a more empathic, relationship focused style.
Simply, we all have the ability to adapt and evolve who we are for greater versatility and effectiveness. We can all change and we can facilitate change both in ourselves and those we lead. It’s not that difficult, we just need to understand more about how the brain works and apply the tools and techniques that are proving to be so powerful within both work and life.
