When we say, People With Disabilities (PWDs), we are assuming that all of us are “able” and the ones with “Disability” are not able. I am proposing that we see ALL of us as People With Different Abilities (PWDAs) , and honour and include ALL as one human family

    • That is a great perspective and more people should learn these terminologies so that they can be implemented

    • Seeing everyone as a person with different ability, takes away the vulnerable status that a PWD would have. We must understand the difference between equity and equality.

      • Dear @Bhumika , Thanks for your perspective. You would be surprised how vulnerable we ALL are. In a recent conference on DEIB, I asked an audince of 220 people the question” How many of you are normal? ” Not a single hand went up! No kidding? Does it mean that we all feel there is someting “wrong” with us? We work with schools, and it is frightening how much “Not Okayness” is dinned into children. Not only people with “Disabilities” but ALL!. I advocate empathy, inclusion, deep respect, listening, safe spaces and UNCONDITIONAL LOVE for ALL

    • It is clear to me that organisations and societies need more safe Spaces for people to be who they are without judgements, labels, and evaluations. We all need to be honoured for who we are, our strengths celebrated and leveraged, and above all given unconditional love. There is nothing as healing as being accepted and loved. Visit Terrasinne restaurant on Fergusson Collge Road, Pune to understand what I mean. And finally, ALL of us can do with more Love. Do not wait to receive it from others, start giving it. One of the best ways to do this is to LISTEN!
