Hi Sir, As coaching increasingly intertwines with cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality, what ethical frameworks should coaches employ to maintain the human-centric essence of their practice, safeguarding against potential dehumanization and loss of empathy in the coaching process?

“The basis of all learning is connection. If you can find creative ways to connect new information to learner’s existing needs, you can more deeply engage your audience.”

    – Tia Samuel, Sr. Program Manager at Intellum

    • Yes, novelty and connection certainly aid learning and memory retention, however, the more we facilitate the learner to make their own connections, work through the practical application of what they are being taught via scenarios, gamification or live examples, the more information they retain, the more they understand and the more likely it is…[Read more]

For organisations it’s also very difficult to decide whether that should make mentoring mandatory or not. Employees, especially younger folks are averse to being imposed anything. So if you mandate it, there’s that natural resistance that builds on. On the other hand if you leave it too loose, you don’t get the immense benefits of mentoring. Summi…[Read more]

What are the common challenges organizations face when trying to establish a mentoring culture, and how can they be overcome? @bavneesh-gulati

    • The biggest impediment according to my experience is that guys who actually need mentoring don’t opt for it. Either they shy away from signing up due to inhibitions or on the other side of the continuum think that they know everything and don’t need to be mentored.

The lifeline for any company is the induction of talent at the entry level. If the organisation has good mentoring processes in place for these youngsters, its talent pipeline will never dry up.

    • Mentoring is very deeply routed in the Growth Mindset. Those who believe that we can improve with efforts can benefit a lot from either having a mentor or mentoring someone else. It’s mutually beneficial for both the mentor and the mentee.

When it comes to mentoring, there is no culture better than that among businesses in Germany. The way they mentor their younger employees by attaching them to seasoned seniors, it doesn’t happen anywhere else. Over the centuries they’ve developed an apprenticeship culture. an expert takes a protégé under his/her aegis and nurtures the young one i…[Read more]
